| | Welcome to the world of The True Deceivers.

Late in 2003, a new idea was forming in the minds of a number of like-minded musicians in darkest Surrey. It went something like this: “What this place needs is a really kicking roots rock band, and if nobody else is going to do it, I suppose we’d better”. A few short months later, the True Deceivers were ready to put the idea into action.
The band’s musical heritage gives some subtle hints about what you might expect to hear. Mark (fiddle, guitar, mandolin, vocals) and Nick (guitar, vocals) arose from the ashes, as it were, of the Blazing Homesteads. Graham (lead vocals, guitar) formerly fronted Plenty. Jamie (drums) played with Eat the Sofa along with Dee (bass) and they both still gig with them occasionally.
If you listen closely (ok, you don’t actually have to listen that closely) you’ll hear shades of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Steve Earle and others, and there’s already a growing catalogue of original True Deceivers tunes.
